Tiësto, a Dutch musician who took the trance genre and turned it into the big name that it is today. He was originally known as DJ Tiësto, he founded Black Hole Recordings and under this name released his first few albums. From 2002 to 2004 DJ Magazine voted DJ Tiësto the number one DJ in the world. After this, his reputation took off. Performing at the 2004 Olympics, and getting a Grammy nomination for the best electronic album for Elements of Life in 2008. Now, his most recent album is Kaleidoscope, which is one of my favorite albums so far.
Hearing the background to this DJ is nothing like seeing him perform. In April of 2010, the world famous DJ came to the Coachella Valley Music Festival where all the other writers and I saw him performing live. This was a wild set. Being in the dead center of 55,000 people at one stage, is like being in a sea of people. This was an amazing set where he did songs such as Escape Me, C’mon, Feel it, and Dance4life. He tore up the stage, not letting anyone forget that concert. I would definitely want to see him live again, but in a full concert that is only him, so he can show his true colors of being the best DJ in the world.
