Scoring a ticket is one thing, but figuring out your entire schedule in just two days is entirely different beast. Last night Coachella released their much anticipated set times, which was a big wave of relief for some and a heartbreaker for others. As with music festival the size and scope of Coachella, there is simply no way you can see every one of the 100+ artists on the lineup.
Of all three days, Friday seems to be the most stacked with quality sets. The biggest conflict for Friday seems to be The Chemical Brothers vs. Boys Noize with the more established and well-known Chemical Brothers closing out the main Coachella stage while Boys closes out the newly updated Sahara tent. Also The Black Keys will be playing against Cut Copy and Cee-Lo Green, Warpaint, The Morning Benders, and Odd Future will all be playing the same time.
Arcade Fire will close down Saturday, after being proceeded by Animal Collective, Mumford & Sons, Bright Eyes, Broken Social Scene, and Erykah Badu on the main stage. Saturday’s lack of conflicts, then, spills over into Sunday the day with arguably the most big name acts.
The final day of Coachella features an epic last three hours as the Strokes, PJ Harvey, Axwell, and Kanye West will take turns closing out the festival. Another big conflict is Ratatat, Chromeo, and the Strokes.
Hopefully for 2011, the set times will present the only major conflict for the festival. After what happened in 2010, Coachella has been taking steps and precautions to show their fans and patrons that last year was a one-time thing. Only time will tell how 2011 will be received, yet it seems the general belief, right now, amongst Coachella attendees is that 2011′s version will be a positive one.
